Richly-talented driver Maddison Brown completed a long-priced double at Gloucester Park on Friday night when she guided Arma Einstein to a thrilling half-head victory over Stamford in the Rod And Sue Brennan Pace.

Arma Einstein, trained by Brown’s father Colin, was a $17.20 chance, whose win came thirty minutes after Maddison had won the previous event with $16.10 chance Alcippes Daughter. A $10 up-the-lot wager would have returned a handsome dividend of $2769.

Doc Holliday, the $1.70 favourite from barrier five, raced three wide for the first 400m before getting to the front 100m later. Arma Einstein was restrained from out wide at barrier nine and settled down in tenth position.

Stamford, the $4.80 second fancy, began out wide at barrier eight before Aiden De Campo sent him forward, three wide, after 700m. He got a length in front of Doc Holliday at the 1200m but was unable to cross to the lead on the pegs.

Stamford eventually got to a clear lead 450m from home and then he raced head-and-head with Arma Einstein in the home straight, with Arma Einstein gaining the verdict by a half-head. Doc Holliday was a fighting third, two lengths farther back.

Arma Einstein ended a losing sequence of eleven and he now has raced 68 times for 13 wins and 30 placings for earnings of $174,072.
