Master Yossi extended the winning sequence to five for champion trainers Greg and Skye Bond when he scored an easy victory in the Nova 93.7 Pace at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

His win as the $1.90 favourite followed the successes of Regal Aura at Gloucester Park last Monday and the stable treble of Vegas Strip, Cotton On and Tiger By The Tail at Bunbury on Tuesday.

Deni Roberts drove all five winners and she laid the foundation for Master Yossi’s victory by dashing him straight to the front from the No. 2 barrier. Master Yossi gave his rivals very little chance by sprinting strongly over the 1730m, with quarters of 29.7sec., 28.9sec., 28.6sec. and 28sec. He rated a smart 1.54.1 and beat The Kraken ($16) by a length.

“The mile suits him so much, letting him roll like that,” said Roberts. “I didn’t expect him to win the start so easily. But when I sprinted him up in the preliminary, he sprinted really good. And that gave me a bit more confidence, and he got off the gate really well.

“He is thriving at the moment and loves it out in front. He is in the right head space.”

Master Yossi, a six-year-old by Bettors Delight, won at three of his 14 New Zealand starts, and his West Australian record stands at 26 starts for ten wins and six placings.
