Promising filly Highview Heidi warmed up for next Friday night’s $35,000 Gold Bracelet in fine style with a stylish victory in the 1730m Download the TABtouch Pace at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

She was an easing $4.40 chance from the outside barrier in the field of eight, but ace reinsman Chris Voak gave the filly’s supporters little cause for concern when he quickly had her enjoying a perfect passage in the one-out, one-back position while her stablemate and $3.50 favourite Shoobees Double was setting the pace, with the well-fancied $5.50 chance Reinette in the breeze.

Deni Roberts sent Reinette to the front 400m from home before Highview Heidi sprinted strongly to take control 50m later and then go on and win by a length from that filly, with an impressive final 400m of 27.7sec.

Highview Heidi, trained in Bunbury by Paul Strachan, was having her first start since winning from Shoobees Double at Gloucester Park nine weeks earlier.

“She had three weeks in the paddock before resuming work,” said Strachan. “Now after this run, I’m hoping she will be a hundred per cent ready for next Friday night’s race.”

Highview Heidi, who is by American sire Rock N Roll World, has earned $27,222 from two wins and a second placing from four starts.

Friday night’s victory completed a double for Voak, who was successful with Storm The Beach in the previous event. Voak continued in winning vein at Narrogin on Saturday night when he landed another double, scoring with Pinny Tiger in the Narrogin Cup and Trouble Supreme in a 2636m stand.
