Veteran pacer Bracken Sky has managed just one win from his past 30 starts, but he has been a wonderful money spinner for his part-owner and Wanneroo trainer Debbie Padberg.

The seven-year-old has accumulated $248,850 in prizemoney from 18 wins and 37 placings from 147 starts — and ace reinsman Shannon Suvaljko is confident of success this week when he begins from the No. 1 barrier in the 2130m Noah George Race Night Pace at Gloucester Park.

“Bracken Sky has dropped back in grade, and he invariably wins when he drops back and draws well. He should lead and be hard to beat, and he looks my best drive on the night,” said Suvaljko.

Suvaljko’s daughter Emily has six drives, and she had no hesitation in declaring that the eight-year-old Angel In White was her best winning chance.

Angel In White, who is trained by Shane Tognolini, will start from the No. 1 barrier in the $23,750 Magnificent Storm Pace, and Suvaljko is hoping for an all-the-way victory.

“We will be doing our best to hold up, and if we do hold up Angel In White is a big chance,” said Suvaljko. “She has been getting out better recently, and the previous time she drew No. 1 she held out Dominus Factum (from barrier two) and went on to win from that horse. This week Dominus Factum will start from barrier four.”

“With Angel In White drawn one, it makes it hard for Dominus Factum,” said the four-year-old’s trainer-reinsman Aiden De Campo.

Evergreen champion Chicago Bull gets a good chance to end a losing sequence of 12 when he starts from barrier two in the $30,000 Thank You Cruz, Love You Noah Free-For-All.

The nine-year-old, a winner of 62 races, will be driven by Gary Hall Jnr, who opted to drive him ahead of Jumpingjackmac, who will be driven by Stuart McDonald from barrier four.

Stuart McDonald drove Jumpingjackmac to an all-the-way victory over Chicago Bull last Friday night when Jumpingjackmac started from barrier one and relished his pacemaking role, while Chicago Bull started from the outside barrier in the field of nine and fought on determinedly after working in the breeze all the way.
