Noted frontrunner Dominus Factum maintained his consistent form with a smart all-the-way success in the 2130m Choices Flooring For Advice Pace at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

The Victorian-bred four-year-old’s easy victory for Aiden de Campo gave the 29-year-old Capel horseman his twelfth training success for the 2022 season and kept him in the lead on the State trainers’ premiership table.

De Campo’s 35 starters this year have produced 12 wins, six seconds and four thirds, and he heads the premiership table from Busselton’s Barry Howlett (11 wins).

Dominus Factum, the $2.10 favourite from the No. 1 barrier, was able to coast through the lead time in a slow 39.4sec. and the opening quarter in 31.8sec., thus giving his rivals little chance of overhauling him in the final lap.

After a second quarter of 30.3sec. Dominus Factum sped over the final 400m sections in 28.5sec. and 27.6sec. to win by two lengths from the $3.20 second fancy Orlando Blue, who trailed the pacemaker throughout. Arma Einstein ($6) fought on gamely from sixth at the bell to be third.

Dominus Factum is by American Ideal and is out of Nikkis Delight, who raced 77 times for nine wins, 18 placings and $55,563. Dominus Factum has earned $82,261 from 12 wins and ten placings from 36 starts.
