Class mare Fifty Five Reborn is set to make her race return on Friday night when she contests the Fillies and Mares Free-For-All event, the DTS, Your Rural Fencing Experts Fillies & Mares Pace (2130m).

A winner at 14 of 41 career starts, the Renaissance Man four-year-old ended her winter campaign with four-straight victories and hasn’t been seen since defeating Alta Blues in the Group 3 Pacing For Pink The Kerry Clarke 4YO & 5YO Classic (2130m) at Gloucester Park on July 30.

Trainer-reinsman Colin Brown will drive the mare from barrier eight under the preferential barrier draw conditions, with consistent type Vivere Damore in gate five and the Greg and Skye Bond-trained Wainui Creek drawn the outside of the front line.

Brown is confident of a forward showing from Fifty Five Reborn first-up, however, he says the assignment isn’t ideal.

“She has done plenty of work for her return but this race was our second preference,” he said.

Brown’s also expecting his other two runners engaged on Friday night, Loucid Dreams and Regal Cheval, to feature in the finish.

Loucid Dreams, a Sweet Lou two-year-old, has won two of his three race starts to date and comes off a dominant 19-metre victory at Northam on October 2.

Artistic Fella three-year-old Regal Cheval will be looking to return to his best form after being unplaced at his last two starts.

“Loucid Dreams has trained on well and is definitely a winning chance,” he said.

“Regal Cheval can bounce back off a poor performance.”
