Star Boyanup trainer Justin Prentice has brought Know When To Run back after a let-up in splendid form, and the seven-year-old completed a hat-trick of wins at Gloucester Park on Friday night when he scored a narrow victory in the 2130m APG Perth Yearling Sale This Sunday At Magic Millions Pace.

The WA-bred lightly-raced gelding was great value at $7.80 from barrier five in a field of seven, and he impressed with his toughness when Emily Suvaljko gave him the task of racing without cover throughout the race.

Polemarker Eldaytona, the $1.55 favourite, ambled through the lead time in 40sec. and the opening quarters in 32.2sec. and 30.9sec. before increasing the tempo with a 29.3sec. third quarter.

Know When To Run then applied the pressure and the final 400m was covered in 26.9sec., with Know When To Run taking the lead in the final 10m and winning by a head from the $3.50 second fancy The Mustang, who flashed home late after trailing the pacemaker all the way. Eldaytona was a half-neck away in third place.

Know When To Run had won over 2536m and 1730m at his two previous outings and he has boosted his record to 39 starts for 13 wins, 14 placings and $169,157 in prizemoney.
