New Zealand-bred five-year-old Master Publisher maintained his excellent form when he made the most of the prized No. 1 barrier and set a solid pace to score an easy win in the 1730m Nathan, Nat And Shaun For Breakfast Pace at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

The $1.50 favourite, trained by Gary Hall Snr, gave star reinsman Gary Hall Jnr his 222nd winner for the season. He reeled off 400m sections of 29sec., 29.8sec., 27.8sec. and 28.8sec. and defeated the fast-finishing Withoutthetuh by two and a half lengths, rating 1.54.4.

Master Publisher, whose past ten starts have produced three wins, one second and four third placings, had three unplaced runs in Group 2 and 3 feature events in New Zealand early in 2019 before arriving in Western Australia.

His 38 WA starts have produced 11 wins and eight placings and boosted his stakemoney to $89,724.

He is by American stallion A Rocknroll Dance and is the eighth foal out of the unraced Badlands Hanover mare Neverland Franco. Neverland Franco is a half-sister to Runaway Three (84 starts for 17 wins, 19 placings and $157,718) and she is a full-sister to the former brilliant mare Nearea Franco, who amassed $441,405 from 11wins, nine seconds and two thirds from 34 starts.
