Talented mare Miss Limelight reappeared after an eleven-week absence in fine style, scoring an impressive all-the-way victory in a fast-run 2130m Allwood Stud For All Your Breeding Requirements Pace at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

The $1.80 favourite from barrier No. 1, Miss Limelight, driven confidently by Kyle Symington, dashed over the final four 400m sections in 29.3sec. and 28.6sec. in each of the final three quarters to rate 1.55.5 in winning by a length from $6 chance Bettor Get It On.

Bettor Get It On, racing first-up after a spell, ran home powerfully from fifth on the pegs at the bell, and $13 chance Booraa also impressed in charging home from last at the bell to be third.

“She was a little bit underdone, but it helped that she painted the rail,” said Miss Limelight’s trainer Ryan Bell. “This was the first time that she was able to do that out in front for me. She will be set for the Mares Classic at the end of November.”

Miss Limelight is by Bettors Delight and is the ninth foal out of the unraced Falcons Future mare Its Showtime. Miss Limelight’s full brother Elios raced 28 times for ten wins, eight placings and stakes of $220,176. He won the Group 1 Messenger Classic at Alexandra Park in May 2014 and also was successful in two group 2 events.

Miss Limelight, owned by Albert and Julie Walmsley, has earned $141,210 from 14 wins and 12 placings from 47 starts.
